Where a large area of wall needs to be rendered, expansion joint beads can be installed horizontally, acting as a day joint between different areas of application. Their use in this way can also add architectural interest by creating a gentle shadow, or by forming a clean line between different colours or textures of render.

These bead profiles are designed to prevent cracking in the finished render, as they allow for thermal expansion or compression. They should also be used over structural movement joints, once settling is complete.

Renderplas expansion joint beads are compatible with systems from leading UK render manufacturers, including Clayworks, Ecorend, K Rend, Parex and Weber. They are designed specifically for use as part of external rendering systems, with plaster expansion joint beads used for internal finishes.

As with all PVCu bead profiles, render expansion joint beads provide a good key, allowing installers to achieve the best possible finish.

Available in depths of 4mm to 20mm to suit the chosen render, all expansion joint beads are available in white as standard. A number of profile depths are also available in eight other colours to help complement the render colour.
