BBA certification

We are proud that our PVCu beads are in the select group of construction products tested and approved by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) and our PVCu movement joints are the only movement joints that the BBA have approved.

The BBA is the UK's major authority offering approval of construction products, systems and installers. It confirms the exceptional quality and performance of our products.

Agrément certificates are recognised throughout the UK construction industry as an impartial and unbiased assessment of a product's performance. BBA certification demonstrates construction products' fitness for purpose, application suitability and whether the product can help achieve regulatory compliance.

The BBA's approval process examines the product when the certificate is granted through laboratory testing and throughout its lifetime by assessing the installed product performance across various applications. The manufacturing process is also scrutinised to verify continued output quality.

More about Renderplas' BBA certificate

The BBA certifies that Renderplas PVCu beads are suitable for fixing external rendering to walls made up of timber-frame, masonry, or dense concrete and can be installed by a contractor experienced in external rendering. It also confirms that Renderplas beading is resistant to mechanical damage and that

maintenance is unlikely to be required over their 25-year design life.

BBA’s conclusions were reached following impact and heat-ageing, pull-out resistance, and weathering tests. Renderplas movement joints were tested for their strength and durability.

The BBA has issued Renderplas’ certificate with the Product Sheet Reference 11/4823. This states that correctly installed, used and maintained, Renderplas PVCu beads satisfy, or contribute to satisfying, relevant Building Regulations.
