Material safety
As a responsible company, Renderplas recognises the importance of material safety. This is a core value for us regarding workplace safety and product stewardship. We understand that health, safety and environmental protection are fundamental aspects of every product’s life cycle.
Renderplas beads are manufactured in Britain from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride. This material is not classified as hazardous and rarely presents a danger to human health by inhalation, ingestion or contact with the skin, as outlined in Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) controls.
PVCu is generally considered safe to handle during installation. Unlike steel, which is also used for beading, there are no sharp edges. PVCu is generally preferred for external and internal beading in schools and other public buildings. It poses no threat to safety if exposed.
Under our commitment to material safety, and as required by UK REACH, we have produced a Material Safety Sheet for anybody within the supply chain that handles our products. This is available to download along with any other documents you require on the downloads page.
